The last piece

Khar’gal came running into The Hall of Greats towards Ish. He had that look on his face that Ish had expected to see for a while now. ”They are coming, Ish! They’ve broken through the front barrier, we need to gather the forces and get ready to battle!”

Ish looked at Khar’gal with a grin on his face. ”Wait,” he said with a calm voice. ”This is what we’ve been waiting for.” Khar’gal stared at Ish. ”What do you mean? We have to fight!”. Ish laughed at Khar’gal as he walked slowly to the window, watching the riot outside. ”We’re not going to do anything.” he said reasuring. ”I’ve planned this for years, since we made the peace-vow with the invaders. I knew they couldn’t take to be ruled by a bigger force than them. By a power few can control. This is what we were born to do. Rule the apocolypse. Be the real master for once!” Ish said with a vicous grin on his face, his hands were trembling.

”What are you talking about?” Khar’gal whispered, slightly incapatitated. His eyes were shining from the candles that lit up the enormous room covered in blood red drapes. The pictures of their ancestors looked more alive than ever, like they were watching every move they made and knew what was going to happen. Ish walked up to Khar’gal, standing close enough to him that he could hear his heart pounding heavliy.

”Don’t worry, old friend.” he said with a soothing voice. ”We’ve been through worse things together. Slayed more horrific creatures than these pathectic peasants. We’ve faced death himself more times than I can remember. But not today… Today we aren’t going to lift a finger. This, is our time. Our time to show what we’re good for. Our time to rule,” Ish said with emotions Khar’gal had never seen in his brother before. His eyes glowed of a passion so strong it couldn’t be stopped, not even by a mothers humble beg for mercy. Ish had plans. If they were good or evil, Khar’gal couldn’t say. But he had his doubts that this was the start of some new adventure with a happy ending.
